Blue and Gold Dotty Nails - The Lazy Challenge #3

I love a good chunky ring and for challenge number 3 (dots) I couldn't resist taking some inspiration from this beauty I picked up at the weekend...

Blue Dotty Nails

The base colour is No7 'Golden Pearl' and I actually used a pearl stone which I polished blue to match the other dots to give it a 3d effect. The blue dots are Collection 'Midnight' and the darker gold dots are Models Own 'Copper Pot'.

Gold Dotty Nails

The look is finished off with a top coat of Seche Vite. You can find the ring at New Look here... Overall, I think I'd do a better job of this if I tried again. I should have used black rather than blue, and I'd have done the base differently...

Vaseline 'Pink Bubbly' Inspired Pink and Black Manicure

A few weeks ago I picked up a tin of the limited edition 'Pink Bubbly' Vaseline and ever since I've been planning on doing a manicure to match - I love the classy combination of pink black and gold. Here is the result:

I'm really happy with the result! It was pretty easy to do and very cute... I used Revlon's 'Lilac Pastelle' as the base coat (it is slightly more lilac than pink, as the name suggests, but very close), then I used Xtras Shade 78 (black) for the tips. I then went over the bottom of the tips with my trusty striping tape...

Definitely one of my faves so far...

Golden Butterfly Nail Art

Today I decided to use one of my new polishes - Models Own 'Copper Pot' as it's a lovely autumn colour. The leaves are really falling now and I love all the golden brown colours everywhere!

The base colour looks really good with the black stamping. Alone it wasn't perhaps as good as I thought it would be, in the bottle it looked like it had a lot more dimension to the colour - with darker tones in it (as you can see in the link above). On it's own it's a bit more of a brighter glittery gold. I did like it, but it wasn't quite what I was expecting.

I created the effect using the BM-307 plate and used MUA 'Black', topped off with a coat of Seche Vite (a pretty thick coat - which I'm finding mitigates the chance of the stamping smudging!)

Golden Rose Nail Art

Today I've tried some gold ‘rose print’ nails. Although there is a bit of smudging on some of the prints, it looks quite ‘vintage’:

The colours I used were Rimmel ‘At Ease’ (520) for the base. I then used the ‘saran-wrap‘ method from ‘Nailed It‘ from to dot some No7 ‘Golden Pearl’ over the top. Now, I've got to give credit where credit’s due (with the link) but I'm going to have to call it ‘cling-film’ going forwards, I'm British after all!

The stamping was done with Bundle Monster plate 323 and MUA ‘Shade 2′ It’s a really pretty design!
